In E-Communication, you learn to do many things, such as Graphic Design, Web Design, Animation, and Video. One of the many things you learn is the six shots that are captured in video.
The first shot is called the 'Extra Wide Shot'.
This shot shows where the character is and a small piece of what the character is doing. In this case, the character is in an office. You can see that the character is writing on paper. This gives a setting for the character.
The next shot is called the 'Wide Shot'.
This shot gives a more detailed picture of what the character is doing. For instance, this character has her leg crossed over the other one, this may not be an important detail, but it makes the shot seem a bit more interesting to look at.
This next shot is called the 'Medium shot'.
This shot shows that the character is, once again, writing on paper, this also shows a small portion of the character's expression and other small details about the character, such as, the character is wearing makeup, or, the character has a circle pattern on their shirt, and so on.
The next shot is called the 'Close Up Shot'.
This shot gives an idea of what expression the character is making, so in the case, the character has a neutral look, so the character doesn't have much interest in what they are doing. This shot also gives emotion and is also a bit more interesting to look at.
This next shot is called the 'Over the Shoulder Shot'
This shot shows what the character is, or was, doing. For example, this character was writing something, and also shows a bit of the personality of the character, since the character was in an office, the character might be taking notes, which would show the viewer that the character is responsible. The viewers could also infer what the upcoming actions could be of the character due to what they are doing.
This next shot is called the 'Close Up of the Hands Shot'
This shot shows a bit of what the character is doing and makes the viewer very interested in what the character is doing with their hands. In this instance, the character was taking notes, so this shows that the character is being a responsible person and the viewers can suggest that the character would be responsible with their choices further in the film or whatever the character is apart of. In this shot, what the character is writing or typing should be visible so that the viewer can physically read what the character is writing.
